Peggy: It’s been 50 years since I last visited you, so it’s a tremendous pleasure to be able to talk with you today!
NF: [chuckling] Your heart carries the imprint of my energy, which you drank in so eagerly while you were here. Welcome back! What shall we talk about?
Peggy: Your current structure was carved out by water from melting glaciers after the last Ice Age. Is that when you were brought into being?
NF: Creator placed me at the site quite a while before that, so I could merge myself with the lands and waters I would be responsible for. Today, my focus is the cataracts themselves and their immediate surroundings; other elements of the waterway are cared for by other beings.
Peggy: I expect you work closely with the rock folk, plant folk, and other Elementals.
NF: Up to a point, yes. Prior to the releasing of the waters, there were agreements to be negotiated among plants, rocks, trees, humans and not-humans.
Peggy: In what way did humans of that time – more than 12,000 years ago -- join in the planning and negotiations?
NF: The wise men and women, the seers, the shamans, the Grandmothers and Grandfathers, gathered from many directions, and many peoples, to voice their ideas about the finished design. Of course there was concern about the physical effects of such massive water-release on the environment (near and far) over many millennia. If you study my physical expression in an energetic or empathic manner, you will discover the energetic imprints of much of the wisdom of those early peoples if you are sensitive to such things.
Peggy: People all over the world know about Niagara Falls. Was it designed with that intention?
NF: Yes. The choice to have three great waterfalls in one place was certain to attract the admiration of countless observers, and those observers can readily take in my benevolent life-affirming energies even if they do not consciously intend to. The same can be accomplished simply by admiring an image of the cataracts.
I am of course only one of many great cataract formations on Earth, but we all have a similar intention to refresh the spirits and lift the hearts of those who see/experience us.
Peggy: Do you intentionally adjust your energies to suit what visitors might need, or want?
NF: I do not personally do that. That task is carried out by sprites, who became established here in the earliest years of my formation.
Peggy: Will you please explain what sprites are?
NF: They are a form of faery, or Nature Spirit, and are dedicated to caring for the Earth’s waters. My waterfalls are as popular with not-humans as with humans, you know. Over the years I’ve been visited by thousands of varieties of fae folk. Many of them love to play in the waters, others simply wish to absorb the restorative energies. And yes, many of them use the cavern behind the falls for meetings and healing sessions. It is a place of profound healing.
Peggy: Do any of them share their own unique energies with you?
NF: Yes, that is frequently offered, and is very welcome.
Peggy: I expect the fae folk enjoy riding on the Maid of the Mist tour boats, too.
NF: That is what they have expressed to me, yes.
Peggy: What is your relationship with the tour boats?
NF: I am aware of every object (physical or nonphysical) that passes the cataracts, but I have no relationship with the boats.
Peggy: Many humans have tested their courage by going over the falls in different vessels. Do you find this annoying?
NF: I have no capacity to make judgements about such matters.
Peggy: Centuries ago, when colonists came from other lands to live in your part of the country, did they perceive your energies?
NF: Some did perceive the spiritual nature of my energies, yes. They expressed it as joy, exhilaration, wonder.
Peggy: Is there anything else you’d like to share today?
NF: My story, my being, is eternal, regardless of the presence or absence of my physical manifestation. Look INTO a [photo], imagine BREATHING in the fresh tang of my energies as the waters rush past, FEEL the exhilaration of standing in my presence. Your connection will be acknowledged with a lightening of your spirit. Repeat whenever you wish. This is my gift to you.
