Peggy: May I speak to the Fire Spirit of Australia?
Fire: We are here. We identify as a group soul. How may we assist you?
Peggy: Thank you! My people are greatly concerned about the effects the Fire People are having on the land, people, and animals of Australia. We understand that fires are a natural part of the ecology, but our hearts are breaking at all the deaths and damages.
Fire: The responses of the human race of all areas [of the planet] shine a light on the nobility of the human soul/nature. It is OUR nature to help balance the Earth, just as great storms do; this is our assignment by Creator.
Peggy: Many of our readers will ask, why would Creator assign such vast destruction as we are seeing in Australia?
Fire: We understand the question, and we honor the caring behind it. Fire destroys, but new growth springs forth from the ashes. You observe a similar phenomenon after storms, earthquakes, tidal waves, do you not?
Peggy: Yes.
Fire: Then this understanding is complete.
Peggy: I have heard that when an animal is about to die, the spirit leaves the body and so does not suffer. Have your people encountered anything like this?
Fire: Indeed, yes. For those who can "see", multitudes of spirits soar upward as my people move across the land. It is a stirring sight.
Peggy: As a group soul, is there agreement about where the fires will travel, and for how long?
Fire: Good guess. We do have a joined consciousness; however, overall our activities are obedient to Creator's plans.
Peggy: Is it possible for Fire to refuse to burn one specific designated place, or to decide to burn an undesignated place?
Fire: [pause] No. It is our nature to obey Creator.
Peggy: What about some of the miracles we are hearing about? Like the woman whose home burned to the ground; but her greenhouse, plants, and stocks of rare heritage seeds were unharmed?
Fire: [I "hear" a low, thrumming sound indicating amusement.] Now we perceive your quandary! We shall say, "refusal" or defiance of Creator is unknown to us. Creator does set forth such "miracle" situations. Our understanding is that such situations help give humans hope, and we certainly have no objection to such.
Peggy: Do the fires ever escape your control?
Fire: Understand that WE ARE THE FIRE; therefore we have perfect control of our activities and travelings.
Peggy: What else would you like to share with us about the Fire Spirits, to help us understand you and your role more completely?
Fire: Like other Elementals who share this world with humans, we ask to be treated with courtesy and respect. We are not evil, or vicious, or wicked, as some have accused. It is unfair to apply human-centric labels to our peoples.
We have no emotional component; we perceive the results of our workings without attaching labels like "good" or "bad". We are aware of what you call "harm" -- that is, changes in life-energy status -- that is done to living things as Fire travels the land. We do not INTEND harm; it is simply the natural result of Fire's presence. We taste ["feel"] accomplishment in the matching of our efforts to Creator's plan.
Peggy: I understand. Thank you for speaking with us.
